About the DSA
The Decorating and Staging Academy began in 1976 as a private interior decorating company created by JoAnne Lenart-Weary, a talented decorator. As time went on, it evolved into One Day Decorating, to fill a need for many clients who were eager for an instant gratification approach to the decorating process. This approach, combined with the full service options ODD continued to carry, resulted in a successsful business model.

Eventually, JoAnne began getting requests to teach others how to do what she was doing so successfully. One Day Decorating Training was launched in 1998. JoAnne was involved in planning training programs for IRIS, The SDP, Decor and You, CHF Academy, as well as her own proprietary curriculums.
Fast forward, and the addition of Carol Bass, a successful entrepreneur, helped continue to expand curriculum, trainers, and services. In 2009, One Day Decorating became The Decorating and Staging Academy (The DSA) to better reflect the purpose of providing education, inspiration and motivation to both established and aspiring decorating and staging professionals.
The DSA team continues to be industry leaders, providing support to the decorating and staging entreprenur, while staying on top of this ever changing industry. Each member of The DSA Team comes with their own set of expertise. Together the group is a well blended approach to creating and selling beautiful rooms. Sandra Racz, the resident moving guru, with over 20 moves in as many years, which gives her the ability to create “I never would have thought of that” ideas on the fly.
Angie Trawick, DesAnn Collins, Cheryl Cousins
Cheryl Cousins is the creator of the ECOrator System, a green approach to decorating, DesAnn Collins is truly the staging queen with a background of creating beaufiful homes that sell quickly. Angie Trawick has a strong background in New Construction, and is instrumental in creating the New Construction Decorating Specialist Certification, available only through The DSA.
I am very proud to be a Trainer & the Staging Director for the DSA. To be a part of helping another creative person follow their dreams, inspires me too.
